Baseball Season
Baseball season has started and with it comes the dichotomy of emotions. On the one hand I love baseball, it only enhances my two favorite hobbies: drinking too much and napping. On the other hand the arrival of baseball season means my mood will be on a rollercoaster based on a ridiculous sport that I have no control over and is essentially meaningless. Not like politics, which is a ridiculous thing that I have no control over but could end up meaning everything and also leads to drinking too much.
And speaking of baseball and booze, I’ve really been enjoying the show Brockmire. If you haven’t seen it, and enjoy foul humor, it’s great. In the first two seasons, the character is drunk and debauched a sports announcer as one could imagine. I wasn’t sure the third season would work with him playing a sober character, but somehow it’s even smarter and more debauched.
Meanwhile of course reality is terrible. The news is somehow worse every day.
So nothing for it I suppose but hoping to make time for a day game and some day drinking. Play ball!
