Like many who start a blog, this isn’t my first rodeo. I livejournaled back in the day before it became hacker no man’s land, I have a Goodreads blog, but it occurred to me that not everyone has a Goodreads account, I have seen attack cruisers off the shores of Orion… or perhaps that last one is someone else’s memory. Damned implants, it’s so hard to tell which are my memories.
The thing is there’s a lot that I write about. Most of it goes into my fiction, but then gets deleted in the effort to make the stories readable. And a lot of the time the world isn’t any worse for that item being deleted. But sometimes I think there’s something valid and important in my ramblings, and a blog allows me to write more directly without always having to metaphor everything up or worry too much about the pacing from the previous chapter or if for God’s sake have I left out the tension?
Here I will probably write a lot about writing, but also all the things that interest me: roleplaying games, my music obsession, math and research, history, movies and tv, my obsession with storytelling, books I’ve read that need more thought than I put into a Goodreads rating, good and bad booze… anything that’s on my mind grapes.
I needed two things: a place to post my more direct ramblings and an author’s page. So here they are, two in one.
